The aim of this research was to explore the influence of e-satisfaction towards e-loyalty among the internet banking users in Malaysia. The moderating effect of convenience on the relationship between e-satisfaction and e-loyalty was also analysed. The study employed systematic sampling technique to recruit respondents. Intercept survey was chosen as method of data collection in which a 25-item questionnaire was used to measure respondents’ e-satisfaction (5 items), e-loyalty (13 items) and convenience (7 items). The survey yielded 120 usable responses. Data were analysed using variance-based partial least squares (PLS) structural equation modelling advanced statistical technique with the help of Smart-PLS version 3. PLS, which has become popular in marketing and social science research, was used to determine the factor loadings and path coefficients in the theoretical model. The study has concluded that e-satisfaction has an effect on e-loyalty; however the moderation effect of convenience was not significant

Total Quality Management System in an Education Environment: The Case of a Private University in Bahrain

    Get PDF
The study aims to analyze and explain the effectiveness and efficiency of implementing total quality management principles in private educational institutions. The context of the study narrowed down the areas of comparisons to tutorial conducts, student affairs and infrastructure. A detailed analysis of the existing total quality management currently in place at the selected university was duly comprehended. This resulted in finding the flaws/weaknesses in the system of universities in the kingdom of Bahrain generally. Findings through a survey and interview sessions indicated that teachers were not consulted for any changes in curriculum which leads to a lack of co-operation between management and teachers. Another problem in regards to the total quality management implementation was that students perceived the university as not being concerned with maintenance of the premises. Moreover, student affairs/services section was seriously lacking sport facilities, limited training sessions, poor equipment maintenance

The Effect of Service Quality on Purchase Intention with Mediating Role of Store Image

This study emphasizes to measure the effect of service quality on purchase intention with mediating role of store image. The study majorly focused on paint brands available at stores of Manama, Bahrain. Reliability of data, descriptive analysis and Pearson correlation matrix was calculated by using SPSS. The relationship among study variables is tested trough structural equation modeling (SEM) by using AMOS 24. Results highlighted that there is significant and positive relation between service quality and purchase intention of private label paint brands. Moreover, it was found that store image mediates the relationship between service quality and purchase intention of private label paint brands

Chromatographic separation of the light petroleum extract from the stem bark of Uvaria cordata (Dunal) Alston led to the isolation of the triterpenoids glutinol and taraxerol in addition to the cyclohexene derivatives, pipoxide and its chlorohydrin. A small amount of benzyl benzoate was also isolated

Getting physical with the market: a study of metaphors in the business times

    Get PDF
This study investigates the metaphorical linguistic manifestations of the conceptual metaphor, market movements are physical movements, using Charteris-Black and Ennis’s (2001) notion of conceptual metaphors. Following a corpus linguistic approach for data collection purposes, it analysed 50 unique Business Times articles randomly identified from a total of 292 articles. An expert within the business context provided expertise in the interpretation of specific types of data derived from the corpus. The findings show that the metaphorical linguistic expressions generally concretise the abstract concept of the economy and market movements and mainly comprise of verbs and nouns. This paper illustrates some of the examples of the relevant metaphorical expressions and discusses how the domain of physical movements helps to structure the domain of market movements. The findings of this study, however, can only be generalised to the samples involved in this study

This paper attempts to assess the factors that influence the students’ satisfaction level towards higher learning education system. The study was conducted at a public university located in the east coast region of Malaysia involving 401 respondents. This study overviewed the students’ satisfaction towards the infrastructure provided by the university which includes the resource center or library service, ICT service, and the campus environment. This study used simple random sampling in selecting the respondents and descriptive statistics to analyse the data. The findings reveal that the services that gave the lowest satisfaction was the campus environment resulted from the lack of availability of parking space for students and lack of availability of food service in the campus and hostel. The university’s management should seriously consider these factors in order to improve the level of students’ satisfaction

This paper attempts to assess the factors that influence the students‟ satisfaction level towards higher learning education system. By adopting simple random sampling technique, this study was participated by 401 respondents from a university in the East Coast region of Malaysia. This study emphasizes on the implicit services provided by the university which include admission and registration; the student affairs services; and teaching, learning and assessment. The findings indicated that majority of the respondents were satisfied with the teaching, learning and assessment aspects. Nevertheless, some factors need more attention and improvement as they indicate a lower level of satisfaction

An exploration of IQ, EQ, spiritual quotient (SQ) elements in the human reengineering program (HRP) practices: A study on the drug rehabilitation Centre in Malaysia

This study is entitled An Exploration of IQ, EQ and Spiritual Quotient (SQ) Elements in the Human Re-Engineering Program (HRP) Practices: A Study on the Drug Rehabilitation Centre in Malaysia. This study involved four drug rehabilitation centres in Northern Malaysia which are Perak, Penang, Kedah and Perlis. However, the rehabilitation centres involved in this study came from three different states only which are Cure and Care rehabilitation centre (CCRC) Kampung Selamat, Penang, Klinik Cure & Care 1 Malaysia, Bukit Mertajam, Penang, Cure & Care rehabilitation centre (CCRC) Batu Kurau, Perak and Cure & Care Rehabilitation Centre (CCRC) Bukit Chabang, Perlis. This study using Qualitative Method and Exploratory Research. Therefore, to explore the phenomenon an in-depth interview has been conducted with one officer of the CCRC and at least 3 patients of the CCRC. In total, 17 respondents had been interviewed for this research. All the respondents are male. Results of the study showed that approximately only 30% of the patients recover. However, this figure is still doubtful due to no exact statistic revealed. The reasons why they are failed to sustain themselves after being freed from the CCRC due to peer’s factor (40%), low of self-confidence (30%) and weak of religious practice (30%). Family support is one of the main factors contributed to their recovering process as 90% of the respondents admitted that. Majority of the patients admitted that peers’ factor is the main reason they involved with the drug abuse (50%) besides self-exploration (30%) and other factors (20%). In order to rebuild the self-confidence, rehabilitation centre used multi programs such as religious activity, peer’s guidance or group maker (Pembimbing Rakan Sebaya (PRS), and therapy community. This study also revealed that 3 out of 4 rehabilitation centres used more than 50% of SQ program in their healing process, 20-25% on EQ activities and IQ activities. Amongst favourite SQ activities are Iqra’ class, which is learning how to read the Quran, and Halaqah is where they will discuss about religion and do some self-reflection. Family support and religious commitment and practices are the main contributor to patient’s recovery survival after they are freed. As a conclusion, healing process in the rehabilitation centre highly influenced with Spiritual Quotient programs besides others. This shows that internal strength gained via religious commitment and attachment besides continuous practices will be a significant factor of the recovering. The authors acknowledge the support of Bridging grant with account no: 304 PMGT 6316039 RCMO University Sains Malaysia as well as The Sumitomo Foundation, Japan in conducting this research

Shape control of composite plates with piezoelectric actuators

    Get PDF
In this paper, shape control of composite plates using piezoelectric actuators is being investigated. The goal of this study was to see how composite plates behave when they are integrated with piezoelectric actuators. Modelling and simulation were done using COMSOL Multiphysics software and results were validated using previously published studies. Parametric investigations were carried out to inves-tigate the effect of patch locations and stacking sequences with respect to suppression of deflection. The obtained results showed that for uniformly distributed load considered in this work the patches worked effectively when they were placed at the center of the composite plate
